All About South Bay Pool Restoration
Twenty-eight years ago, I began my journey in the pool industry in the South Bay area, specializing in fiberglass pool and spa installations. Through years of experience, trial, and refinement, I developed a unique installation formula that I confidently back with a 10-year warranty.
Composite fiberglass offers a lifespan of over 20 years, lasting up to three times longer than plaster. Because fiberglass is non-porous, it prevents calcium buildup, requires fewer chemicals, and is easier to clean. Additionally, during the summer, fiberglass pools can be 8–10 degrees warmer than those made of plaster.
When applied over a plaster pool, fiberglass creates a waterproof shell by filling in any existing cracks on the surface. The process involves five meticulous steps:
Treating all visible flaws and cracks
Applying a primer coat of isophthalic resin.
Laminating the surface with fiberglass mat and resin.
Adding another coat of isophthalic resin.
Finishing with a smooth, protective gel coat.
The result? A clean, durable, and low-maintenance pool that looks beautiful for years to come.
